Aiandra E. Knights

Aiandra E. Knights was appointed as the Chief Executive Officer (“CEO”) of the ECAMC on August 1, 2021. She previously served as the ECAMC’s Legal Counsel & Corporate Secretary and held that position from the organisation’s commencement of operations in 2017 until her appointment as CEO. Aiandra also served as the ECAMC’s Acting CEO from December 2020 to July 2021.

Aiandra is a graduate of the University of the West Indies, Cavehill Campus and the Hugh Wooding Law School, Trinidad. Shortly after qualifying as an attorney in 2002, she commenced her legal career in banking as Legal Counsel at the National Bank of Dominica. For nine years from 2007, Aiandra served as General Counsel and Corporate Secretary to The Bank of Nevis Limited and the Bank of Nevis International Ltd. In this capacity she advised the Banks in relation to securitisation matters, regulatory issues, and a broad range of operational matters. As General Counsel, Aiandra spearheaded the Banks’ debt collection efforts in conjunction with the Recoveries Department, conducting approximately 90% of the Banks’ litigation in this regard in both the Magistrates Court and the High Court.

Aiandra is firmly committed to advancing the interests of the banking sector in the region and is an ardent proponent of amalgamation of the indigenous banks within the Eastern Caribbean Currency Union (“ECCU”). To this end, she served as Corporate Secretary to the Eastern Caribbean National Bank, an entity set up by the indigenous banks in 2013 to lead the way forward with respect to amalgamation.

Merlyn Pelle

Merlyn Pelle has been an employee of the ECAMC since January 2, 2020 when she was appointed as the Chief Financial Officer (CFO).  She was previously employed as the Accounting and Finance Manager with the ABI Bank Ltd (In Receivership) from April 2017 to December 2019. Prior to her official appointment, Merlyn served as the Interim CFO with the ECAMC for the period and also a Financial Consultant to the ECAMC. Merlyn has been a finance professional for more than six years and her experience includes providing financial advice and support to financial institutions, preparing financial reports, budgeting and overseeing the financial accounting of the ABI Bank in Receivership. 

Merlyn is a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA), a Certified General Accountant (CGA) has over two (2) decades of experience within the accounting field, the auditing field, and the banking industry. Merlyn is a graduate of the University of the West Indies and a member of CPA British Columbia and CPA Canada. 

Patricia Etienne

Patricia Etienne, a Dominican national, holds the position of Manager Asset Acquisition Management and Recoveries (formerly Head of Assets), at the Eastern Caribbean Asset Management Corporation (“ECAMC”). She joined ECAMC on 17 April 2017. Patricia holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Management and a Certificate in Business Administration from the University of the West Indies, Mona Campus, Jamaica.

Ms Etienne is a banking professional with hands-on expertise in development banking. Prior to her appointment at the ECAMC, she held the position of Manager Recoveries at the Dominica Agricultural and Development Bank (“DAIDB”) where she managed a team of four. She also served in a voluntary capacity as a Member and Chairman of the Credit Committee of the Central Co-operative Credit Union in Roseau, Dominica. Against this backdrop, Miss Etienne has a wealth of experience in loan administration, credit appraisal, collateral/security management, and restructuring of non-performing loans with a track record of working with and leading diverse teams with different areas of expertise and effecting change. These qualities are supported by her contribution to transforming the Securities (collateral) and Recoveries Units at the DAIDB. Miss Etienne is result oriented with strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills.

Patricia is a firm believer in regional integration and is honored to be part of a regional organization with a diverse team that advances the cause of financial stability in the region.

Sherry Kissoon

Sherry Kissoon, a Guyanese national, joined team ECAMC on 1 January 2022, as the Chief Internal Auditor. She is a Certified Internal Audit practitioner and member of the Institute of Internal Auditors as well as the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants and holds a master’s degree in Business Management from the Australian Institute of Business. 

Ms. Kissoon has over 24 years combined Finance and Auditing experience in local, regional and international organizations (16 of which was in auditing and 3 in the banking sector). Prior to her appointment at the ECAMC, she was the Manager, Internal Audit at the Guyana Bank for Trade and Industry where she led a team of seven. Ms. Kissoon also served as a Senior Internal Auditor for 10 years at the Caricom Secretariat where she performed various audits (operational, compliance, fraud, information technology and financial audits) for the Secretariat and its Regional Institutions.  Through her assurance and consulting services at these organizations, she contributed to strengthening the governance, risk management and Internal Controls. She also served in a voluntary capacity as the Secretary for the Institute of Internal Auditors, Guyana Chapter, which promotes the Internal Audit profession and assists members in obtaining continuous training and professional development.
