EASTERN CARIBBEAN ASSET MANAGEMENT CORPORATION
VACANCY NOTICE
Suitably qualified persons are invited to apply to fill the post of Legal Administrative Assistant at the Eastern Caribbean Asset Management Corporation (the “ECAMC”), headquartered in Antigua and Barbuda.
The ECAMC was established by the Member Governments of the Eastern Caribbean Currency Union (ECCU) in response to the increase in non-performing loans (“NPLs”) in the commercial banking sector. The statutory purposes of the ECAMC are to:
- Carry on the business of asset management, including acquiring the whole or any part of, dealing with, managing, and disposing of assets or liabilities of approved financial institutions in an expeditious manner; and
- Act as the receiver of a financial institution whenever appointed by the Eastern Caribbean Central Bank under the Eastern Caribbean Central Bank Agreement or the Banking Act.
The successful candidate will be based in Antigua and Barbuda.
SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES
The Legal Administrative Assistant provides comprehensive administrative support to the Manager, Legal Services/Corporate Secretary, with particular focus on ensuring compliance with procedural requirements under the ECAMC Act. This role is responsible for maintaining documentation, tracking deadlines, coordinating communications, and assisting with the implementation of regulatory requirements including Article 102 regarding amendments to the Agreement. The position holder must be detail-oriented, organized, and discreet while handling confidential materials and communications. This role plays a crucial part in maintaining regulatory compliance and supporting the legal functions of the Corporation.
APPLICANTS MUST HAVE:
- An Associate Degree or Diploma in Legal Studies, Business Administration or related
- At least two 2) years’ experience in an administrative role, preferably in a legal
- Legal Administrative Assistant Certificate/Diploma would be an asset
- Training in Corporate Secretarial Practices would be beneficial
- Familiarity with legal terminology and
APPLICANTS SHOULD ALSO HAVE:
- Experience with legal document management and filing systems
- Familiarity with corporate or governmental administrative processes
- Basic understanding of legal and regulatory compliance requirements
- Experience in supporting meetings and maintaining meeting records
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
- Experience in maintaining confidential information and records
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide administrative support to the Manager, Legal Services/Corporate
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation and record-keeping
- Meet deadlines for document preparation and submission
- Coordinate logistics for Board and Committee meetings
- Draft routine correspondence for the Legal Department
- Assist with the preparation of Board and Committee Meetings
- Ensure accurate tracking of statutory requirements and deadlines
- Conduct basic legal research under supervision
- Demonstrate reliability and responsiveness in meeting department needs

Compensation will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. Applicants are also invited to indicate their minimum and average compensation package expectations. All compensation will be in Eastern Caribbean Dollars.
